Located in Waterbury, Connecticut, Davis Gardens is a 122-unit, townhouse-style housing community designed for working families. This $33 million investment blends affordability with suburban accessibility, offering modern, energy-efficient homes that support long-term neighborhood stability.
Constructed in the 1940’s, by the Federal Government and temporarily used as military housing. Davis Gardens was formerly known as Warner Gardens Co-Op, was founded in 1957 and was considered the only black-owned housing cooperative in the State of Connecticut. The property fell into serious disrepair and had some financial challenges. In 2015, Omni purchased the development, relocated the families and demolished the existing buildings.
Omni Development Corporation’s expansion into Connecticut highlights its commitment to creating high-quality, affordable housing beyond Rhode Island, using public and private funding partnerships to maximize community impact.
Davis Gardens received the National Apartment Associations’ Best Affordable Housing Community Award in 2018.
