The Joseph Caffey Apartments & Jordan Caffey Townhomes are a major redevelopment of the former Barbara Jordan II site, bringing 79 affordable housing units to South Providence. Developed by Omni Development Corporation in partnership with Wingate Capital Partners, this project focuses on sustainability, community spaces, and long-term affordability.
The development includes a four-story, 54-unit apartment building and 25 townhouse-style homes, providing options for individuals and families. Community input shaped the design, ensuring features like green spaces, gathering areas, and spaces for local services that improve neighborhood living.
Omni’s investment in this project helps revitalize the area, strengthen local partnerships, and create high-quality homes for residents.
Joseph Caffey Apartments was named after Omni’s long-term President and CEO. Joe served in this capacity for 24 years, and under his leadership Omni grew to become a premier minority-owned/controlled non-profit, affordable housing developer in the state of Rhode Island.
